PORTABLE
CALIBRATION BATHS
Portable calibration baths for the simultaneous calibration of up to four sanitary Tri-Clamp temperature sensors. The calibration baths are suitable for use in clean room environments in the pharmaceutical, biotech and food industries.
FLUKE CALIBRATION BATHS
6109A AND 7109A
With their wide temperature range from -25 °C to 250 °C, the two portable calibration bath models cover most process applications such as bioreactors, CIP/SIP systems, steam autoclaves or freezers. With a tank volume of 2.5 liters, up to four temperature sensors of various types can be calibrated at the same time. The calibration baths have excellent stability and uniformity and are more accurate than conventional micro baths. The stainless steel calibration bath housing is suitable for clean rooms and can be cleaned with aggressive cleaning solutions. Thanks to their compact design and carrying handle, the Fluke calibration baths are ideal for calibrating built-in temperature sensors on site.
EFFICIENT CALIBRATION IN CLEANROOM PRODUCTION PROCESSES
CALIBRATION OF FOUR TRICLAMP SENSORS SIMULTANEOUSLY
The Fluke calibration baths are designed for pharma, biotech and food applications. A large tank (Ø 106 mm, depth 154 mm) allows up to four Tri-Clamp sanitary temperature sensors to be calibrated at the same time. Sensors of different types and lengths can be calibrated. An adjustable bracket controls the immersion depth and positioning of the sensors and temperature reference.
PORTABLE CALIBRATION BATHS FOR ON-SITE CALIBRATIONS
Often the temperature sensors are not completely removed in order to calibrate the entire measuring chain. The portable calibration baths have a carrying handle and handles on the underside in order to be able to calibrate temperature sensors even in hard-to-reach places. A tight tank lid prevents liquid from spilling while the calibration bath is being transported.
COLOR DISPLAY AND STATUS LIGHT FOR EFFICIENT CALIBRATION
The large color display with date and time, temperature of the bath liquid, temperature setpoint and heating status guides the user through the calibration. A status display that is visible all around switches to green when the setpoint is reached and the bath is ready to take measurements. A display warns against touching the tank at temperatures above 60 °C.
FULL IMMERSION FOR EXCELLENT CALIBRATION ACCURACY
The adjustable probe holder allows the probe including its flange to be immersed in order to avoid ain influence of the flange mass on the probe. Thanks to a clip mount, the reference probe can have the same immersion depth as the sensors. With a display accuracy of ±0.1 °C, the calibration baths are twice as accurate as conventional micro baths.
ON-SITE CALIBRATION IN CLEANROOM ENVIRONMENTS
The portable calibration baths made of stainless steel are designed for use in clean rooms in the pharmaceutical and biotech industries as well as in the food industry. The calibration baths are resistant to corrosion and can be easily cleaned with aggressive cleaning solutions, ideal for calibrating temperature sensors in clean rooms.
CONNECT A REFERENCE AND SENSOR UNDER TEST
The Fluke transportable calibration baths are available in a version that contains measuring electronics to which an external reference thermometer can be connected, the measured values of which can be read on the calibration bath display. Connection terminals to which transmitters with 4-20 mA output can be connected are also provided.

From advice on new devices to revision and calibration of existing calibrators and references for the parameters temperature, pressure and relative humidity.
CALIBRATE UP TO FOUR TRI-CLAMP SENSORS SIMULTANEOUSLY
The video shows how four Tri-Clamp hygiene sensors are calibrated at the same time. A Fluke 7109A-P model calibration bath is used for this demo; however, the procedure is the same for the 6109A-P model calibration bath. The Fluke 7109A bath has a temperature range of -25 to +140 °C. The tri-clamp sensors are calibrated at three temperature points: 0 °C, 70 °C and 140 °C.

Display of setpoint, bath and reference temperature
The cover of the stirring motor has min and max markings to indicate the level of the calibration liquid. Fill the tank to the minimum level if your setpoint is greater than the ambient temperature. Fill just below the max value if your setpoint is below ambient temperature.
If you are using the optional overflow kit, remove the cap from the overflow tube and install the overflow container. Plug in the bath and turn it on.
In this example we are using the 7109A's process electronics as the thermometer display. Connect a secondary PRT reference to the input of the calibration bath. Use the adjustable probe holder to hold up to four tri-clamp temperature sensors in place. The device fits into the tank opening. The height of the platform is adjustable. Immerse the tri-clamp sensors with the flanges just below the surface of the liquid.
Place the reference probe in the center of the work area. The single probe clamp kit can be used to hold the reference probe in the optimal position. Press the program button on the control display.
In the programming mode you can define several target temperatures, here for example the 3 following target temperatures: 0 °C, 70 °C and 140 °C, with a dwell time of 15 minutes at each target value. Then click Run Calibration. The bath begins to cool down from room temperature to the first setpoint of 0 °C.
The display shows the date and time, bath, setpoint and reference probe temperatures. The upper right corner of the display contains a control indicator and the heating or cooling status. The control display shows steadily when the bath liquid is at the setpoint and is ready for the temperature measurement.
A readiness indicator at the top of the bath also changes from yellow to green when the bath has stabilized at the set temperature, which indicates that the calibration bath is ready to collect data. Record the temperature of the reference thermometer in the bath manually. Also note the readings from the tri-clamp sensor on the process control station. The bath then rises to the next two setpoints. Record the corresponding measurement data for these two setpoints as well.
The 6109A and 7109A portable calibration baths offer four times the calibration throughput with twice the accuracy of other baths in this class. They are designed for calibration efficiency and clean room usage.
