FIELD DRY BLOCK CALIBRATORS FLUKE 9142/9143/9144
Dry block calibrators are used to calibrate resistance temperature sensors (RTD) or thermocouples. The Fluke 9142/9143/9144 calibrators are lightweight and portable, making them ideal for field calibrations. Thanks to ambient temperature compensation, the dry block calibrators are also very accurate in process environments. Optional process electronics enable the connection of an external temperature reference. In addition, very short heating and cooling times to quickly reach setpoints in the temperature range from -25 °C to 660 °C increase calibration efficiency. This combination makes the Fluke 9142/9143/9144 dry block calibrators ideal for on-site process calibrations.
HIGH PRECISION CALIBRATIONS IN PROCESS ENVIRONMENTS
The dry block calibrators are used with inserts with a depth of 150 mm with holes for various types of sensors. To ensure precise calibration of short and bulky temperature sensors, the calibrators have a dual zone control. This enables an axial temperature homogeneity of ±0.05 °C at 40 mm immersion depth. This active temperature control also helps to achieve radial homogeneity of up to ±0.01 °C.
The calibration devices have an ambient temperature compensation to guarantee the accuracy of the calibration also in process environments.

ELECTRONICS FOR EXTERNAL REFERENCE AND TEST PROBES
The Fluke 9142/9143/9144 dry block calibrators contain an ITS-90 reference PRT. The accuracy of the integrated display is between ±0.01 °C and ±0.07 °C, depending on the measured temperature.
The optional process electronics allow the connection of an external temperature reference to increase the accuracy of the calibration. The second measuring channel can also be used to read out a test probe (thermocouples of different types or a 2-, 3-, 4- wire RTD). A 4… 20 mA connection enables the measurement of a 4… 20 mA transmitter with a 24 V loop supply to supply the transmitter with voltage.
AUTOMATIC CALIBRATION AND DOCUMENTATION
Up to eight target temperature values with stability criteria and dwell time can be programmed and saved. The display and an acoustic signal inform the user when the setpoint temperature has been reached and is stable. At the end of the dwell time, the block calibrator records the temperatures of the temperature reference as well as of the test sensor (Unit Under Test), which is connected to the process electronics. Then the calibrator controls the next target value. The dry-block calibrators have a data memory for 20 such calibrations.
