The particle counter Solair Boulder Counter is designed for particle measurement of large particles in the range 5.0 - 100.0 µm. These so-called macro particles are mentioned in the ISO 14644-1 standard. An M descriptor can be used to quantify populations of macro particles (particles larger than 5 µm). It is the designation for the measured or specified concentration of macroparticles per cubic meter of air, expressed as an equivalent diameter characteristic of the measurement method used.

The Solair particle counter from Lighthouse Worldwide Solutions can store up to 3,000 records with up to 6 particle channels. A configurable recipe database can store up to 50 recipes for sampling and reporting.

All data can be quickly and reliably transferred to a PC, FMS or building management system. The Lighthouse Secure Data Transfer feature allows secure data transfer (21 CFR Part 11 compliant) to a USB flash drive or to the associated LMS Express or Express RT configuration and analysis software (real-time data). Communication is via Ethernet, RS-485, USB and USB flash drive interfaces.
